दरअसल ऋषभ पंत पिछले कुछ समय से हर मुकाबले में फ्लॉप साबित रहे हैं। उनके बल्ले से कोई भी अच्छी पारी देखने को नहीं मिली है। हालांकि इसके बावजूद उन्हें हर मैच में मौका दिया जा रहा हैं। लिहाजा, पंत के इस साल के प्रदर्शन पर नजर डाले तो उन्होंने टेस्ट मैच की 9 पारियां खेलते हुए महज 532 रन बनाए हैं, जबकि वनडे में उन्होंने नौ पारियां खेलते हुए 326 के ही आंकड़े तक पहुंच पाए हैं। वहीं, 25 टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच में उनके नाम 364 रन दर्ज है।
गौरतलब है कि पंत के खराब प्रदर्शन के बावजूद उन्हें लगातार प्लेइंग इलेवन में देखकर फैंस काफी नाराज है। वहीं, 27 नवंबर रविवार को शिखर धवन की अगुवाई में खेले जा रहे मुकाबले में भी पंत को शामिल किए जाने पर यूजर्स आग बबूला हो गए हैं। ऐसे में एक बार फिर से टीम इंडिया के विकेटकीपर ट्रोलर्स के निशाने पर आ गए हैं।
